Seniors

Under STAR's system, any passenger age 60 or over is considered a senior citizen and will ride the bus for free.   However, seniors will be charged $2.00 for any no-show rides.

In Rock Springs the bus goes to the Young at Heart Senior Center at 8:00am and 11:00am.  It then returns to the Center to take senior passengers home at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.  All rides still have to be scheduled through the office by calling 307-382-7827 or 307-875-7827.

STAR provides door-to-door service for all riders.  Going grocery and other shopping?  Call and reserve a ride through our office.

In Green River the bus goes to the Golden Hour Senior Center between 9:15 and  9:30 am and again at 11:00am.  It then returns to the center to take passengers home at 1:30 pm and again at 3:00 pm.

Starting in August, 2022, STAR began providing door-to-door service for all riders.  Before this date, STAR had designated days and times for our seniors to go shopping.   However, now shopping can be scheduled for any day and time (except for Friday afternoon) as long as there is availability on the bus.  These rides still need to be scheduled in advance through the office.
